Hi Arlene! Thanks for the comment. I really don't usually listen to what I'll call "general fiction" but Mr. Cottonwood does a nice job on his stories. I think I preferred Babcock to Clearheart for a number of reasons, but in a nutshell, Babcock has a sweetness about it that personifies life in a small town. Not all happy. Not all good. But so very real.

I told my daughter about it for my 9 year old grandson, who seems like a teenager every day...... Joe Cottonwood is not on twitter, but he did respond to my email about Clear Heart. He is a good guy, just like his stories.... Thanks for bringing his work to more people.

Thanks for the comment! I have to say, as much as I enjoyed clearheart, something about Babcock just resonated with me. Perhaps it was having a son the same age. Don't know. Just really enjoyed it.

I have listened to this book and I have to agree with the review, although I did enjoy Clearheart more. The elements are the same. Good Character driven story.

I will go download it today.
I agree about Dan Brown, I could NOT stand his writing and couldn't understand why it was so widely read. I think because it introduced a theme that most in the world, who had doen research, were not familiar with and it was fascinating. One of the books that lead me to many hours spent researching the Christian religion was The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco. He is an author that requires and inspires research on what ever he writes.

After reading this review, I am sending you to Casey S Townsend and his podiobook Eternity. It is also a scifi magic story about religion. You know how I am about violence but I forgive it in this book, it could be rated PG, because I am hooked on the characters and story. It is fully loaded and the first in a series. http://www.podiobooks.com/title/eternity

Thank you -- looking forward to another good book, recommended by you.

You're quite welcome. You have a real talent. Also, thanks for not "Americanizing" One Among the Sleepless. It is nice to have the colloquialisms of an area give the extra flavour to a story.
